Meet Firefly
Firefly (F)
Thank you all for your incredible patience, but, trust me, it was well worth it! FIREFLY IS FINALLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
You may recall that when those spicy little bugs first came to us, they had a lot of obstacles to overcome. Not only were they having to live with humans for the first time, but since they were older than the kittens we usually work with, they had spent six full weeks without adequate health care. All of them had serious upper respiratory infections and Firefly had an especially bad eye infection—the worst I've ever seen. Eventually, after many rounds of different types of medications, she recovered (as did her siblings) fully from all of her infections. However, something didn't seem quite right, as her eye continued to be a little teary and her third eyelid no longer fully retracted, so we took her in to see a specialist. The ophthalmologist has assured us that both of these symptoms are a result of her bad eye infection, but are simply cosmetic and do not affect her vision, health or happiness; she just looks a wee bit different than her peers!
But I know you guys would never judge a book by its cover, so let me tell you about her! She's a funny little gal, always playing, running, jumping on her foster siblings (cats three times her size!), and burrowing through the bed. She gets along well with my dogs—they often play and groom each other. You'll likely wake up with her curled on your chest or snuggling your cheek, purring louder than anything and making some really intense biscuits. I have to keep her claws trimmed often to avoid pinpricks on my lap, because she loves to nap there while I work. She's so happy and well-adjusted, you would never believe that she lived the first weeks of her life without human contact. She would benefit from a home with other young cats, and she loves playing inside tunnels and cubbies. I promise you that Miss Bug is going to be the best companion you could hope for. (**Note: there are no discounts for her lack of tail, sorry for the inconvenience**)
