Felix Domestic Short Hair Tracy, CA

Full disclosure: Felix is not a sweet, cuddly kitten. Don't get us wrong, Felix is very much a kitten. But words that better describe him are spicy, feisty, ruthless, and a penchant for violence. Felix is pissed at the world and is not afraid to let it show. When the completely made-up KittyTV camera crew came out to interview him due to recent criminal activity in his neighborhood, this psychotic little kitten gave them a nice punch to the kisser. He may only have one remaining front leg, but he has no problem using it for violence.

Felix is a reluctant member of the tripod cat club, which means he only has three legs. Unfortunately, Felix was found in absolutely terrible shape and very close to death by a Good Samaritan. His leg was badly broken and severely infected and simply could not be saved. Even with the amputation, Felix came very close to losing his life due to his weakness from the prior infection and how long he had gone without any treatment. Felix has now physically recovered from his surgery but has not seemed to have emotionally recovered. He spends most of his days laying in his bed, yelling at anyone unlucky enough to cross his path. He very much reminds us of a curmudgeonly old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

With a lot of time and patience, Felix will allow you to hold him and pet him but it is by no means a fast process. He will even purr from his little kitten "purrito" swaddle after a bit. But to get there, you have to be iron-willed and face this tiny little conqueror's wrath. You can't back down when he scares the ever-loving daylights out of you. Instead you continue on, day by day building this tiny little scaredy-cats trust in you and in humanity.

We know that Felix is not a good cat for the average adopter. We know he is going to be overlooked by 99.9% of potential families because he is a black (tuxedo) kitten, because he is a tri-pod, or because he is not nice. But we also hold out hope that somewhere out there is an amazing and kind person, capable of patience and full of love, that can give Felix the time he needs to be comfortable. Who will give him a safe, comfortable space to feel at peace in. There are angels who walk amongst us, are you Felix's angel?
