Meet Emiko INDOOR ONLY
Meet beautiful Emiko. Emiko and her siblings were born in March 2021. Their mama was someone's pet but the family she had sadly moved away leaving her behind unspayed, to fend for herself. The young cat soon found herself pregnant and homeless. Emiko's mother stayed in the yard where she’d lived with her family and gave birth to Emiko and her siblings. After the kittens were born, a new family moved into "her" house and did not want her or her babes around. Knowing she had to protect her babies, she moved them to the house next door and luckily it was the home of the Good Samaritan family. The Good Sam family watched after Emiko's mother and babies. Once the kittens were about six weeks old, they reached out to our rescue for help. The Good Sam family ended up adopting the mommy kitty back! Emiko is the last of the kittens who remains waiting for a home...
Emiko is a sweet, loving young lady and is an interesting mix of breeds. She has three different color schemes and some of each personality. She's got a little calico, tortie and tuxedo in her. Emiko really enjoys her one-on-one time and shows it by turning on her bread-making skills and purrs up a storm. If you think Emiko is a good fit for your family, and you can provide her with a safe indoor only lifetime home, please submit an application.
All Second Chance Kitty cats are free-fed quality dry food with low or no grain and are STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less financial burdens at veterinary offices when they are kept indoor only. There are so many predators out there, both human and animal and it is sadly unsafe to let them roam unattended.
All of our babes come altered, microchipped, vaccinated, rabies (if age appropriate), FeLV/FIV negative unless stated otherwise , dewormed, flea treated, litter box trained and full of love. Our adoption fees are a minimum $150 donation. Anything beyond $150 helps rescue another babe.
Adoption isn't an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Owning a cat is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford a cat? If we're renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if the kitty becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Kitty requires routine check-ups, annual vaccines, quality food, litter and toys, can we afford this? These are all questions a responsible pet owner must ask themselves. If you can make this type of commitment please take a moment and visit our website at www.secondchancekitty.org to submit an application.
Second Chance Kitty is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting cats, kittens and an occasional dog, escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect.
