It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.


The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.


ELCO and his 3 siblings (SHADOW, STARBIE & INKY) were rescued from Los Angeles, California on Alameda and 101 in a trucking company parking lot. The Rescue Mama was called that a lady was trapping all the cats to get them fixed and needed help with the kittens. So our trapper went out and brought us the kittens so they would not have to die in that truck parking lot. They brought us 2 different sets of siblings; a total of 7 kittens.


Meet ELCO, a young cat with a big personality. His independence shines as he explores his surroundings with a curious and playful spirit. Despite his love for solo adventures, ELCO also enjoys the company of others, showcasing his friendly and sweet nature. His goofy antics will bring a smile to your face, while his gentle, mellow demeanor will melt your heart.


ELCO is not just brave and smart, but also a little shy, adding to his charming persona. His funny, friendly demeanor makes every day a joy. ELCO is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / EGYPTIAN MAU TABBY MIX. He is about 1 year and 1 month old and is good with cats. He has not been around young children or dogs.


ELCO is currently at a foster home in Menifee, California.


ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT)
2. Fill Out Online Form
3. Submit Online Application
4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview
5. Will be notified of Approved Application
6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED)
7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty
8. Sign Adoption Contract
9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH)
10. Take the Kitty Home

MAY 2024: VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees.


Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit. A good time to come visit is between 4 pm - 9 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us, or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3-hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability.

The kitties at a foster/rescue homes, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below.

The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done.. Gas donations always appreciated!

If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.


Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.


We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.

FVRCP shots
RABIES shot
FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative)
Drontal Dewormer
Stronghold Flea Control
Microchip


We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.
