Dante was found all alone in Waverly, Iowa back on July 5th, 2024. A kind family took him in and offered to be his foster home until he gets adopted. So he became a Waverly Pet Rescue kitten and we fully vetted him. Dante tested negative for FeLV / FIV, is up to date on shots, and neutered.

Dante is about 13 weeks old as of August 24th, 2024. Dante was very shy and skittish when found and his foster family has worked with him. They wrapped him in a blanket like a burrito and showered his little face with love and affection. He started coming around and realizing humans can be ok! He is a busy little guy and loves to run and play. He is mischievous and fun to watch because he gets into everything! He does well with their cats. He is not a fan yet of the dogs so might be best in a home without dogs. He has always grown up with kind children.

Dante cannot be an only pet. He either needs to be adopted into a home where there must be a young cat in his adoptive home for him to play with and bond with.

9/15/24 UPDATE: Dante is doing well. Growing every day. He loves running around the house and getting into kitten mischief. He has learned how to get on top of the fridge and knock things off, lol. He does purr when you pick him up, if you can catch him. He would much rather be playing. He prefers my husband right now over everyone else in the house. He gets along with the other cats but stays away from the dogs, although he has no problem being in the same room as them

11/8/24 UPDATE: Dante is a typical kitten and likes to get into mischief. Dante likes pets, but he is not crazy on being held. Although he will lay on my lap sometimes. He does not like dogs but just stays away from them. He loves cat towers and playing with other cats. He can be vocal at times when he misses you. He can be cuddly sometimes. He has a great purr once he knows you and is happy. He's so sweet.

Adoption fee is $95.00.


WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
