Meet Coppurr

Hello! I was a community stray cat. At first, the lady at Feline Felicity thought I was feral. I really wasn't. I was just very distrusting and scared. After she trapped me at her grandparent's house and had me combo tested, neutered, and vaccinated, she kept me in a large crate in the room where she fed most of the other kitties. I quickly learned to look forward to seeing her at meal times, and all the other cats seemed to like and trust her, so pretty soon, I wanted out of that cage to join the rest of the kitty gang.

I do fine with almost all of them. Some of them don't like me for some reason, but I'm usually a pretty laid back kind of guy. I wish I could spend more time getting some tlc all to myself because Ms Tana can't help but "spread herself too thin" with all of us. I think I would love sleeping in the bedroom at night with my special person to call my own and not have to share with so many. I have my favorite feline friends here and tend to accept and make new friends relatively easy. I'm curious, yet cautious, and can still tend to easily startle sometimes. I love to play, and I love to be petted. I like to be held and carried around sometimes. Sometimes if you put me down when I am not ready to put down, I will go right back to your legs for you to pick me back up, sometimes even reaching up with my front legs like a little child. Sometimes I gently reach out and paw at your hand to make you pet me again when you quit too soon. When you are home, I may want to be where you are most of the time - to be able to see you, be with & close to you, or even directly on you!

I LOVE my canned food. It's the best, and for optimum health, ALL kitties should definitely have canned/wet food DAILY. Our dry food is usually Iams Urinary Tract Health with real chicken as first ingredient or Purina ONE Indoor Advantage with real chicken and turkey as first ingredients. That is pretty important. But I still like the canned best. And canned/wet food, especially the pate kind with a little extra warm water added, is really much better for our overall health. (In all the foods with gravy, the gravy part, which we love to lick and sometimes then fail to eat the meaty pieces, is really not very healthy for us) Also, fyi, fish-flavored foods are the least healthy for us. Chicken or turkey is best, followed by beef, with fish last.

I feel much heavier than I look as I am firm and solid. That means I am a long, lean, strong, and muscular kitty. I need to have a lot of engaging, interactive attention and exercise. Some people who think I look like a sorrel cinnamon Bengal say that I will probably keep growing until 2 or 3 years old.

I know one thing. I do not ever want to go back outside! There are too many things out there to make me uncomfortable or hurt me or make me sick. I like being safe, not being too hot or too cold, or scared or wet in storms. Indoors is where I want to always stay with someone who will love me like family and consider me a precious priceless gift to always be with them. Could that be you?

My special needs is that I have developed some off and on autoimmune issues with my paw pads, plasma cell pododermatitis, which sometimes has to be treated with paw soaks, oral antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories.
