Meet Chert

Confident Chert is ready for her forever home!

Shorted on everything but personality, Chert—or, as she is frequently called, Stumpy—was the runt of the litter who paved the way for her littermates. (You can't see from the photo, but her tail is short. She arrived at the shelter as a stray and their vet thinks part of the tail was removed when she was very young.)

Bold and active, Chert is perpetually in motion and always motivated to do whatever she may with all her energy. Whether that be playing with her favorite toys (read: anything that can be played with) or getting all the pets and attention she could ever want, Chert commits herself fully to her activities. She was the first of the litter to become curious of the new surroundings when they arrived at their foster home, and quickly showed herself to be comfortable in new environments after a short adjustment period. She has always been the leader of the pack among her siblings, but is also quite happy to operate independently of them.

We think Chert would do great in just about any home, with or without other pets. However, she might be best in a home with either another playful cat or humans who are ready to provide her with lots of attention and playtime. We think she would be good with kids except that she might play a little roughly, so maybe older kids who can be encouraged to redirect her play onto toys rather than hands. She is ok with being held, but as a very active kitten, she’s going to want to jump down and resume play or exploration pretty quickly.

Chert has perfect litter box habits. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. She is about 5-6 months old as of mid November.
