Meet Champ
Meet this handsome man. He has had some bad luck. Champs original owner died a few years ago, family members gave him to a friend that could not afford vet care. When Champs back legs started to give out and he walked on his elbows she surrendered him for euthanasia at a kill-shelter in PA. The shelter found that he has a Cape May County microchip and contacted our shelter to see if we would take him back.
Champ was diagnosed with diabetes. His blood levels are not high enough for him to be started on insulin. He is on a wet/high protein canned diet to see if his numbers come down.
UPDATE/ 8/5/2024 Champ has been on a high protein, canned wet food diet since February. His blood sugar is back to normal and he is walking perfectly on all for feet!!!!
The staff just loves the little guy (14 pounds)! He is so sweet, clean, polite with a good nature. He is front declawed and in good health. Champ deserves a great home. Champ does not like other cats, he tends to be a bully.
The shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting. The staff is very accommodating, and we welcome any inquires.
