Meet Catherine
Catherine
***Julius and Catherine: bonded sibling pair***
Beautiful calico girl.
Chases her tail when she thinks no one is looking.
Julius and Catherine need to be adopted as a bonded sibling pair.
Catherine is a quiet shadow. She likes to follow people and observe what they are doing. Although she does not often get close enough to be petted, that also means she isn't always directly underfoot. She shadows her foster mom up the stairs and likes to sit on the corner of the bed for her grooming session.
She likes to take treats handed directly to her and allows gentle pets when she naps. She is still unsure about being held, but if you speak calmly and pet her, she will reward you with her sweet, petite purrs.
At their wet-food breakfast time is when this sweet brother-sister duo are open to being petted as they are excited for their meal and first interaction of the day. This is also when they do their "tail dance" which is a joy to watch. He purrs loudly enough to wake the entire household, and she curls her tail around him in a hug as they weave around the kitchen floor.
They casually lope around looking for sunlight to lay in and snuggling down in the soft blankets on beds. They enjoy playing with toys, but are sometimes hesitant to let down their guard with interactive wand/stick toys.
Julius and Catherine are extremely cautious cats — after months of fostering and socialization, they are still often nervous about being approached and handled. They will need a quieter home, maybe someone who is home a lot to continue their confidence building and someone who is patient enough to let them emerge from their shells over time. Their foster says, "We have come to love their quiet presence in our home. The moments that they approach us, allow petting, and even give a small head butt to our chins while we hold then are even more precious due to their infrequency."

Unless noted to be ok as a single cat, it is a solid requirement to either have another kitten/cat in the home or adopt two kittens, preferably littermates, together.Â

By the time of adoption:Â
All kittens/cats with Kudzu Cat Alliance have been combo tested for FIV/Felv, age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, spay/neuter, and microchip.
Adoption fees
Why we have them:Â
Most of our kittens come from a rough start in life and we invest a great deal of time, energy, physical effort, resources, and money getting them healthy and ready for a forever home. Our baseline investment per kitten/cat when they are totally healthy averages $150, though that can easily increase, depending upon health/medical issues, into hundreds or dollars. [We operate on donations; adoption fees help only to offset the cost of vet care. Everyone with Kudzu Cat Alliance is a volunteer.]
What they are:Â
Single adoptions (only if there is another kitten/cat already in the home, unless otherwise specified) -- kittens 12 months and under are $125; cats, over 12 months, are $100;Â
Pair adoptions -- kittens 12 months and under are $200; cats, over 12 months, are $150.Â
Donations:Â
If you want to help us continue saving these often overlooked lives we welcome and very greatly appreciate donations -- one time donations, regularly recurring donations, or donations in addition to adoption fees, and even sponsorship of kitten/cat care or adoption fees. To donate either text KUDZU to 44-321 or visit kudzu.link/ally or visit https://kudzucatalliance.org/support/
