Meet Cash - he's a hunky and chunky boy who has been waiting a very long time for his forever home!

Cash came to us after being cooped up in a small pet store condo for over 5 months. Why would this gorgeous man not get scooped up, you ask?! He opted to nap in the "hidden room" of his condo during the day and come out a night... So everyone thought his cage was empty!

This stunning young man spent the first couple years of his life on the streets so he is still very shy around people, but he's come such a long way already, and we know that with the right patient and loving family he will really shine. Like any true cat, Cash loves to find a tight little nook to squeeze into for a nap. He's a sucker for a soft blanky as well, and once he finds his forever home we're willing to bet that Cash trades in the blanket for a nice, warm lap.

Cash's personality really shines in the way he interacts with the kittens and new cats in our facility. Despite being the largest kitty in the place, he is incredibly gentle and father-like with all the kittens. We will often find 5 or 6 tiny kittens snuggled up with Cash in his favorite hiding spot (a little cat house) with a window for him to look out of... It is heartwarming!

Big boy Cash has the most mesmerizing aqua/green eyes and shiny, silky black fur. We named him Cash because of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash, but lately we've nicknamed him Cashew because it's a pretty perfect description of his body shape! He is built like the most adorable linebacker you've ever seen with a thick neck and body - he's like a fluffy semicolon with eyes and we adore him.

Enough about his appearance, interacting with Cash (even now when he is still a little shy around people) is a dream. Someone once described him as "pliable" and I think that sums it up: when you pick Cash up, he just kind of moves where you want him and will fold right up into your lap.

Typically we don't urge a companion for adult cats (although it's always nice!) but Cash would do so well if one of his kitten buddies or another cat that he snuggles with came along with him to his new home to help coax him out of his shell.
