Meet Buddy **FIV +
Buddy came to the rescue while we were assisting with a TNR project. He is estimated to have been born around July 2021. Buddy is a laid back kitty. He chills in his condo and observes his surroundings. He is super sweet and just looking for a home to call his own.
Buddy is FIV positive and while this will not effect his ability to live a long, happy life, the disease is transmittable to other cats (through severe bites). FIV affects a kitty's immune system and although Buddy is not currently exhibiting any symptoms, this could change as he gets older. As the disease compromises Buddy's immune system, he is more prone to upper respiratory infections.
Buddy currently hangs out with the other kitties at our thrift store and does well. He can live in a home with "normal" kitties but close supervision is necessary to ensure they all get along since the disease is transmitted by severe bites.
We believe Buddy will do best in a home with older children as he does exhibit some shyness and jumpiness with quick movements.
