Bobbsy Japanese Bobtail & American Curl Mix Culpeper, VA

This is the kitty that everyone wants; gorgeous and a super affectionate snuggler. Check and check. Petfinders insists that we pick a breed, we chose Japanese Bobtail because they are described as having short kinked fluffs which exactly describes Bobbsy's tail! At about 7 mos old (BD: 5/20/24) she is only 4.12 lbs, while she continues to grow and add on pounds, we feel she will still be a little girl. Keeping in mind that initially we thought she was feral; she was found feeding at the dump and was trapped. Wow, were we surprised to discover she was so friendly and affectionate, right outta the trap! Bobbsy possesses a thick lush black coat, brilliant gold/green orbs, and while just divine in appearance she does have lots of other great attributes. Playful, sweet, friendly, loves to cuddle and in general just hang around you! Very affectionate kitty, always happy for attention but content to play with her toys. A chill and confident little girl, she'd make a great companion for most any home. Her 2 unique characteristics are her darling short fluffy tail that is kinked - its just adorable, and her chatty talkative nature, which we get such a kick out of. Her most perfect home is where she is an integral part of the family and gets lots of attention and lots of laps. Her foster home has lots of other cats but no dogs, she'd probably be fine with a dog with proper introductions (we can help with). Bobbsy would love to lounge about with you, watch you work, cuddle and watch tv, play with her toys, EAT, NAP, and talk about her day and global events (okay we lied about the whole global thing). Lovely to look at, loving to hold and irresistible to snuggle.

All our kitties are fully vetted; spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, utd on rabies, distemper vax, dewormed, deflead and microchipped.

Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends if they have a cat that you interact with), and our Director of Adoptions will schedule a phone interview with you. If approved, you will be contacted by our Foster Coordinator for a (virtual) home visit. If approved, the foster parent is notified to contact you to discuss the kitten(s) and arrange the logistics for a visit. If both parties are committed to moving forward with an adoption, the foster parent is empowered to do same day adoption. Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our foster volunteer’s homes. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application gives us more information to help ensure an appropriate, suitable and good match.

Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer. We just don't want the animal to go back into the system. It is also our policy NOT to adopt to families with intact dogs or cats (unless there is a medical reason for not doing so). This is an effort to educate and support our national spay/neuter efforts to reduce the unwanted pet population.

We DO adopt to DC residents, lower parts of Maryland and all of Virginia. Occasionally we will adopt far from our epi-center, but will request your local humane society to do a home visit for us and act as our safety net.
