Meet Blue Willow
Blue Willow returned to our program through no fault of her own and under mysterious circumstances. A mindful employee of the Chubbuck Animal Shelter saw a box sitting outside the shelter’s door. Inside, he was greeted by a polite yellow-green eyed stare framed in a peculiarly patterned blue-white face. She was accompanied by a well-loved frog plushie. The young cat was identified as a former rescue in our program and mercifully made her way back to our care.
We don’t know why polite little Blue was left outside the shelter, but we have come to find that it probably wasn’t because of any shady dealings with a catnip dealer in her past life. Here are the facts of Blue Willow:
Fact: Blue Willow (from henceforth, “Blue) is polite. She approaches new cats with friendly caution and seems game to make friends if the feeling is returned in kind.
Fact: Blue is chill. She acclimated to her new situation with good natured aplomb. She is calm and relaxed when meeting new humans. Polite, well-mannered dogs may also be granted a chance to prove themselves to her.
Fact: Blue is (just a little) mischievous. She loves to explore and find a nice high spot from which to survey her territory. Recently introduced to the wonder of the holidays and all the accompanying sparkles, she has welcomed the addition of a tall, climbable shiny tree to her indoor environment.
Fact: Blue is independent, but not aloof. She enjoys company and affection but doesn’t need to be the perennial center of attention. She is content to play on her own for several hours while you work, and then conk out for a long, boneless nap wherever you’ve settled.
Fact: Blue loves birds. For the first few days, she was glued to the windows watching the activity of the winter birds fluttering about the feeders. A nice window perch with a view is on her short list of housing requirements.
Blue Willow will hopefully be home for the holidays with the family she was meant to have from the beginning. With her little green frog (which she carries around from bed to bed), she will hop into that empty space you’ve been waiting to fill, and the mystery will be solved.
