Meet Binky

Are you a fan of foggy nights and misty mornings? Well don’t look into my eyes unless you are prepared to fall in love!

That is because Binky has the most beautiful eyes that look slightly supernatural with their foggy appearance. We don’t know if she can tell the future or see into other dimensions, but we do know they speak to her fighting for her life at a young age. Binky and her sister Bungee were extremely sick when they came to our care after being found and brought to the Humane Society. One of our volunteers happened to be there and saw their condition and knew we needed to help. It was sadly too late to save their brother, but we knew we had to try and save the girl. So Bungee and Binky were transferred into our care and placed into a foster home and that’s when the real work started. They required sub q fluids, antibiotics, eye drops, glucose and some seriously intensive care for the first few weeks and we weren’t sure if they would make it; if they did make it we weren’t sure if we could save Binky’s eyes. But these two girls were little fighters and against all odd both not only pulled through, but began to regain their vision.

Today Binky is a four month old playful little girl with somewhat limited vision due to the scarring on her eyes, over time we hope this will continue to heal but we know she will never have perfect vision. She doesn’t let that slow her down though and plays just like any other kitten. Binky is a well rounded little girl who her fosters considers to be practically perfect, although they might be a smidge biased. She is playful, sweet, confident, outgoing and loves to explore new places around her foster home. If you want to know you are loved, she is your lady as she will readily purr and give you head bumps when you need them (and sometimes when you don’t). Binky also enjoys chatting with her foster family and is pretty darn cute about it. It is important to note that while Binky is doing well now and has had a clean bill of health, she might have upper respiratory flare ups as she gets older. With kittens like her it is often something they will have to grow out of but she hasn’t had a flare up since the original infection!

Binky is currently in a home with both cats and dogs and does well, with a proper introduction and acclimation period we think she would warm up to other animals in her adopter’s home. We think that kids would enjoy Binky’s playful demeanor! Binky is currently an indoor-only kitten and we are looking for a home that will keep it that way. With her reduced vision it would be a serious risk for her to wander around outside. Don’t worry, Binky is litter box trained in his foster home, however she is a kitten and with a new home environment he will need to learn where his new litter box is. Binky is a kitten and kitten behavior comes with the package, she should be provided plenty of toys and scratching posts to continue good scratching habits. Binky is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption. She has been microchipped and that will be registered to his family at time of adoption. If you think Binky may be the one for you please go to our website wagstorichesanimalrescue.org and fill out the application to adopt. Be sure to include a vet reference, as regular vet care is important for the health of all of our adopted pets. With approval and a $125 adoption fee for Binky she will be ready to find her happily ever after with you.
