Poor Johnny has been through a lot. He was adopted by a hoarder who lives in a very small town. The hoarder constantly brought in new animals and would often put her "not so new" cats outside. Johnny was one of those cats who ended up outside. Luckily a nice couple in town feed the local strays that are frequently dumped. Our TNR volunteer started trapping these cats for spay and neuter when Johnny walked into one of the traps.

Our volunteer contacted his "owner" and she claimed she took him and a few other cats back to the shelter a few months ago. Unfortunately she was not telling the truth as he was thrown outside with multiple other cats. When we took Johnny to the vet it was discovered that he was anemic, underweight, had horrible ear infections, very little muscle mass and nerve damage. The nerve damage was something he was born with. Unfortunately his low muscle mass was said to had been from being confined in a very small area for a long period of time. Most likely being kept in a small closet or kennel. He could hardly stand up from a laying or sitting position due to having very little muscle mass in his back legs.

After months of loving care in his foster home he is finally healthy enough to go to his furever home. He is a super friendly boy who adores attention. He has the quietest purr and is always making biscuits. If you are sitting or laying down he will want to lay on you while happily always making biscuits. Even with his nails trimmed he really goes to town with his kneading which can be uncomfortable for most. He also loves to play but sometimes will play bite. Due to his strong kneading he will need an owner who does not have thin skin that is easily cut or bruised.

He will need a home with no other cats since he does bully them. He is also scared of dogs. So he must be the only pet in the home. He also prefers a quieter home and can also be shy at first but will quickly warm up to you. We hope that someone out there can look past his baggage and see him for the wonderful cat that he is. He is just your average cat who loves attention and canned food, loves to play and roll around in catnip and enjoys chasing the occasional bug that gets in. He is just as deserving of a home as any other cat. We hope that there is a special someone out there willing to give Big Johnny an awesome, furever loving home.
