Meet Beans Polydactyl!
Beansprout (aka Beans) is an adorable and rare polydactyl; a great companion who is easy to care for. He loves to sleep the day away and greet you with leg rubs the minute you get home. Beans is an incredibly sweet, very affectionate cat who will let you know when he wants to be pet by purring next to you and rubbing against your legs (especially when it's time for a treat)!
Polydactyls are known to be lucky and were brought back from England on ships because of their excellend climbing and hunting ability. Also known as Hemingway cats because they were adored by Ernest Hemingway. These are rare kitties!
Beans Loves being with his human, following you around, sleeping between your legs or under the covers on the bed, cuddling up to you in bed before you go to sleep, receiving head and chin scratches while lying on your lap or chest or sitting next to you for long stretches of time, greeting you at the door with leg rubs when you get home, playing with you and his toy mice and ribbon wands.
He is a curious cat who loves to sniff and explore any new items that come into the house. Beansprout prefers to be a solo kitty and doesn't want to compete for your attention. Here is a video of him: https://youtube.com/shorts/eKBZK_Hbjn8?feature=share
As a polydactyl, Beans' has extra toes with nails that must be trimmed regularly (we can show you how - it's easy!). When we rescued him, he was outside and starving for a long time, his nails growing into his pads, which made it painful to walk or move. Poor guy must have been truly miserable. Now, he's a happy indoor cat who's just waiting for his furrever home!
Beans is about 8 years old and healthy. He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and fiv+/felv-. FIV requires no special care or attention; FIV+ cats have a normal lifespan. Please read more about FIV at
