Bean and Billie are likely brothers who were rescued from a backyard colony because they were shy but friendly cats who would do so much better in a home than fighting for territory and scarce resources outdoors. They have been in foster for a while, getting used to navigating a living space that includes people, and feeling more settled as they become less wary and more secure.

Bean is a sweet orange cat who is shy but full of curiosity and playfulness. Although he’s timid at first, Bean enjoys playing with toys and wrestling with his best friend and likely brother, Billie. He loves lounging by the window and his curious nature often has him exploring new corners of the house. With a gentle, patient approach, Bean will reveal his affectionate side and make for a delightful companion. Bean would thrive in a calm environment where he has the opportunity to get comfortable and warm up to his new family.

Watching Billie play and interact with people prompts Bean to come out and do the same once he decides all is well. Bean actually enjoys getting pets, and may even fall asleep beside you or on your lap when he is totally relaxed. It just goes to show that all cats, even the shy ones like Bean, will respond positively to a soft voice, calm demeanour, and lots of love. What a treat to see him open up and be the sweet, curious and playful young cat he is!

Bean, being more submissive, will allow Billie to move in on his food during mealtimes, so they should be fed separately and monitored. They both have good appetites and love treats, especially Greenies. They also enjoy drinking water out of a water fountain, so please consider having one for them!

Bean and Billie really are great, well-behaved, curious boys deserving of a good home and great people. They have come such a long way and proved themselves to be resilient and adaptable, they are ready to connect with and blend into a quiet, patient household of super cat lovers.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
