Meet Barabbas

Barabbas came to us last spring as a feral transferred from another rescue. He is FIV+ and has a home with us forever in our FIV+ room at the shelter. However, our FIV+ cats are adoptable - ask us for details about our Permanent Foster program for our FIV+ cats.

Barabbas certainly presented as feral when he arrived - very scared and lashing out in fear. However, when he got a bad cold and needed medical help from us, he accepted it. He was still scared, but he knew we were there to help him feel better. Since then, he has gained some trust in us and is open to some pets and chin rubs when the timing is right. There is nothing more sweet than hearing this gentle giant purring away as he gets pets and watching him lean in to the pets is really heartwarming.

Barabbas would need a very quiet home where he felt secure and we think he might continue to progress with his interest in human interaction.
