Meet BAKER & MATCHA
Matcha and Baker have lived together all of their lives. They lived with one person all of their lives who ended up with some life changes and no longer had the time to care for them. They had been well loved in their previous home. For this, it did take them some time to get comfortable in foster care as the change was a big deal for them.
Matcha did have corneal grafts in both eyes in her younger years. Because of this, she had some vision loss and is why her eyes appear cloudy. She does have some vision though and gets around just fine. There is no further care needed at this time, and the vet stated that everything seems to appear stable.
Matcha loves to play with toys, especially ones that have longer strings or wand toys. She interacts super nicely with children and enjoys when they play with toys together. She is a confident girl who is loving but not overly needy.
She does need her face wiped on a regular basis due to her flat face. She does pretty well for this. Additionally, she is currently sporting a lion cut and will need to either be brushed or groomed on a regular basis as her coat will mat. She doesn’t care to be picked up on a regular basis, but will tolerate it if needed.
Baker requires less grooming with both his face and coat, but does require some face wiping and brushing once or twice per week as he does have a plush coat.
Baker is the more reserved one of the two. He does not care as much for loud noises, so young children would likely be too much for him. He is a lovebug and once you find his just right spot, he will give you all of the purrs. He does not mind being picked up and carried. He does love to play with toys once you engage him. He will take a bit longer to come around, but is still a sweet and loving guy.
Baker and Matcha are on Hills C/D food both wet and dry. Some years ago, Baker had a UTI, so he was placed on this food. Since then, he has had no issues with this. He must remain on this food. The vet said that it would be ok for them both to be on this food since Baker requires it.
They are rooming with other cats and have been just fine with them. They are not looking for wrestling playmates, but rather just company. They were also introduced to the resident dog. Matcha went right up to the dog and did some sniffing, while Baker was a bit more reserved, but would be fine if given proper and slow introductions. High energy breeds, young dogs, or dogs looking for a playmate would not be appropriate. Older children would be fine for the two as long as the children are respectful and understand boundaries and space.
ADOPTION FEE FOR THE PAIR $500. FOSTERED IN LOUISVILLE, TN.
