Bacardi is a lovely tortie just entering her senior years. She will greet you at the door and talk to you, and she loves to supervise the volunteers as they prepare meals. When you pet her, she has quite the purr! She wouldn't be a real tortie without just a bit of "tortitude", but she's more sweet than sassy. She's was the only cat in her former home, so her ideal new home would be one where she can be queen of the castle as the only cat, but she could live another cat who will respect her space.

Bacardi is FIV positive, however, many kitties with FIV live as long and as healthfully as other cats without the virus as long as they receive good nutrition and good medical care, which is what any cat should receive anyway! FIV is very difficult to transmit between cats, and poses no health risk to humans. It is spread primarily among cats through deep, penetrating bite wounds. Bacardi could live as the only kitty in the house, with other FIV+ kitties, or even with kitties who don't have the virus if they are not aggressive.
