Meet Arnold
Arnold was rescued from a hoarding situation in 2021 and was living at the shelter until recently when he moved to a foster home. Despite his rough start to life, Arnold is an extremely sweet boy. He loves being pet and brushed. He rubs up against people and makes biscuits all the time! He enjoys treats right from your hand and he gets along great with other cats. He’s a little on the reserved side, so we think he’d do best in a home with adults and calm, older kids. His foster mom says she can’t believe he hasn’t been adopted yet - he’s the sweetest cat she's ever met - he has never hissed, bit, or swatted at her. She doesn’t think he knows he’s capable of that!
Arnold is FIV positive, but that’s nothing to be scared of! FIV-positive cats can live the same lifespan as FIV-negative cats and can safely live with non-infected cats. FIV is passed from cat to cat through deep bite wounds, the kind that usually occur outdoors during aggressive fights and territorial disputes. Good nutrition and frequent medical care is important for FIV positive cats, but that's the best practice for all cats.
