Archie was dumped in the countryside. He was extremely malnourished & emaciated, nothing but skin & bones. He was tired, dirty, & starving. He was so hungry that he walked into a trap we set for him within minutes.

Once inside, he ate a whole can of wet food & a handful of dry kibble. He was beyond friendly & very grateful to be inside. Trusting & affectionate from the start, he is a very verbal kitty. Extremely food motivated, we have been training him to be satisfied w/dry kibble on a regular basis w/a once a day wet food regime. Otherwise, he will bug for food every time his human gets up. He must have been fed table scraps in his past life, but we’ve been diligent in not catering to that & ignoring his flaring nostrils & hypnotic stare. He is now at a healthy weight & ready for adoption.

Archie is one of the most regal cats we have come into contact with. His fur is extremely soft. His tail is long & fluffy. His gaze is an intimidating one, as he definitely has a cougar’s commanding face & expression.

Archie will follow you around the house. He just wants his own special person that he can lounge beside all day & night long. He’s full of back & forth rubs on your legs, smushing his face & cheeks onto you affectionately. He tends to feel most comfortable eating when he knows you’re nearby. He’s a biscuit maker… those paws will let you know when he’s happy!

Archie is very high maintenance cat and wouldn't make a great fit for a first time cat owner. He needs an experienced cat parent. Even with our decades of cat owning experience, we can tell you that HE IS EXTRA. He's more like a spoiled dog than anything... very demanding and in your face. He needs someone that will be home all day to wait on him hand and foot, like the king that he is. If you're looking for a bonded partner in life in the shape of a cat, Archie is your guy.

Archie doesn't mind other cats that won’t bother him. He will growl, hiss, & snort at first but he gives up when he realizes they won’t hurt him. He does play with his favorite friends here at the rescue, and it's hilarious to see them zoom around hiding and seeking together! He loves being reassured & will sprawl out lovingly & upside down when he is relaxed. He's got many adorable sleeping poses!

He loves a tall scratch post & anything involving catnip. He also loves toys that hang on elastic strings so that he can bat & play w/them. Archie is a drooler for plush catnip toys. He loves them & has a set of his own that he will be taking w/him to his forever home.
