Meet Altair
I was born and raised in a colony for all eight years of my life. I was very smart and avoided all traps to catch me and get me fixed. But then, I got sick and decided it was in my best interest to walk into a trap so I could get medical care. It was the best decision of my life because this indoor life is very cushy.
I am very sweet and affectionate to humans. I want your attention 24/7 and pets are the best thing in the world. I will have a full conversation with you if you don’t give me the attention that I demand or when I want something (which is normally food). I like to follow the humans around and sometimes I get underfoot. So make sure to watch out for me. I’m not a fan of being picked up but I can tolerate it for a short period of time before I want back on the ground. But that’s ok, because I love to come hang out with you on the couch often and I will sleep right next to you in bed at night.
The way to my heart is through food. My foster mom likes to call me a foodie and tells me if I eat too much, I wouldn’t fit through the kitchen door. Which doesn’t make sense to me because I am ONLY 15 pounds. But if you give me a Churu treat or wet food, I will forever be your best friend.
I am not a fan of dogs and would prefer that they do not exist in this world. My foster mom has explained to me that dogs will always exist, so I will just settle for not having one in my new home. I get along with most cats as long as they try not to dominate over me. I would like to have a child free home because I sometimes like to nip when I get overstimulated.
During the course of my normal vetting, it was discovered that I am FIV+ and I also have chronic Calicivirus. The FIV means that I am immunocompromised and is most likely the reason that I was never able to clear the calicivirus like other cats. The calicivirus means that I am chronically congested and sneeze. But that does not stop me from living my best life. My foster mom allows me to hang out with her while she is taking a shower so that humidity helps me with the congestion and she supplements my food with supplements that help out a lot.
If you think you can give a special guy like me a good home, reach out on Facebook or Petfinder to meet me!
