Alexander is a handsome, curious 3-year-old cat looking for his forever home!

This tabby guy is a playful cat once he warms up and has time to adjust to his new place. He will meow (more like a squeak) at you when he feels like he's not getting the attention he deserves! He has a few endearing quirks: he sometimes treats his litter box as a personal sandbox, and likes to look at himself in mirrors, trying to figure out who that dashing young cat is.

When Alexander isn't napping on the top of his cat tree, he loves to explore every area of the house and climb onto high surfaces. He is always up for playing with his cat wand and keeping his claws trimmed on his scratching post. He is always down to cuddle (on his terms) and will beg for belly and face rubs all day.

He is a relatively low-energy cat who enjoys playing with his toys but also enjoys a daytime nap. Mainly, he uses most of his time to walk around and explore areas he's already seen a hundred times. There’s always a new detail to observe!

Alexander is currently living with four college girls in an apartment next to a busy Minneapolis street. There are no other pets (besides a tarantula) and he receives lots of attention. He has gotten used to the noise of cars and will even sit in the windowsill and watch them go by.

Alexander is currently on a free-feeding diet. His appetite has been getting better, but he eats small amounts throughout the day. He currently is being treated for a UTI and should be cleared at his vet appointment on October 14th.

This guy’s ideal home would be a quieter environment with people who will give him lots of pets, toys, and places to climb. He would do best with someone willing to be patient while he transitions into a new environment and will let him come out of his shell on his terms—a patient and loving family would be the perfect fit.

This sweet boy has not met any other dogs or cats at this point, and since he gets startled by loud noises or fast movements, he would be most comfortable in a home without young children. Calm, cat-savvy teens/tweens might be okay.

Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped.
