Alaska and her sister have tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). FeLV is not a type of cancer; it's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life span. Most importantly, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. Our shelter waives the adoption fees for these cats and offers some support post-adoption. Alaska can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are fine! If you have any questions, we'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
