Hi! My name is Watson. I'm Bee Bee Canary Wing Parakeet and I'll be two years old in February. We think I'm a girl - but we're not sure as I have not been DNA sexed, yet. My foster mom rescued me from a poor situation and has fed me yummy food and loved me up and helped me to trust again!! I have been with her for a few months and I'm now healthy enough and ready for my forever home. I can be a nervous little birdy as I came from a scary situation. I need an engaging and calm atmosphere. I'm very curious about other birdies and might like to have other birdie friends in my new, forever home. I DO NOT, however, like little children - they make me feel scared and on edge. I don't like loud noises or plastic bags of any kind - they scare me a lot. I am hand tame and not aggressive. I love to be with my human and sit on their shoulder while chattering, making talking noises, looking around, and preening. I am very curious and like to explore. I LOVE FOOD. I enjoy cuddling under blankets and sometimes having my head scritched. I love to hold little objects and chew on them! I love watching TV with my humans, too! Right now my primary flight feathers are clipped so I'm not able to fly. When I do try to fly, I land on my bum - that's why my tail feathers look a little rough right now. But they will grow back in! When you uncover me in the morning I will usually greet you with a big happy"Hi!". I can even laugh some! I can say a few other things, as well as grumble under my breath. It will take me a little bit to trust my new human, but once I do, I am quite the charmer and very loving and lovable. I like to go on field trips and be outside when the weather is nice. I like jazz music especially Billie Holiday. ? I really like corn and carrots and apples and grapes. I prefer to be outside of my cage most of the time. I am not a birdie who likes to spend a lot of time inside a cage - I prefer to be outside on my cage, or exploring, or with my human, or at least in the same room as my human. If you're looking for a birdie to sit pretty in a cage I am not the bird for you. But if you're looking for a darling, lovable little companion who wants to hang out with you, I just may be the birdie you're looking for. I usually prefer one or two people, but am willing and able to tolerate and go to many different people. Because WAES loves me and is very protective of me, and wants me to go to the best home possible, there is an adoption process should you want to adopt me for your very own. They will probably ask you a lot of questions about you, your family, your home, other pets, and will even do a home check before releasing me to you. Anyway, thank you for reading my post. Vet check normal except for elevated WBC count, probably due to stress. Adoption fee $350. Must be within driving distance of Salt Lake City.
