Meet Thumper
Thumper is a Catalina macaw (a hybrid between a scarlet and blue&gold macaw) who is the whole package!
A lot of people are drawn to Thumper because of his colors, but he is so much more than his plumage. He will need someone who will change their life to accommodate Thumper, not the other way around!
He is smart, energetic, curious, and outgoing. Did we mention... He's an expert escape artist? This fella will keep you on your toes!
Thumper gets loud at times. He is not a bird for those not up for challenge! But ask any volunteer who works with him; once you have a breakthrough with Thumper, it's very rewarding!
He is blind in his right eye, which is important to remember when you interact with him or approach him. He will need regular appointments at the ophthalmologist to make sure his blind eye does not develop glaucoma. At the moment, he is pain free and living his best life.
