Meet Six Roosters
Rooster Haus Rescue has six survivors of cockfighting available for adoption. These roosters came to us in 2023 and have been absolutely thriving in their foster homes, and they're now ready to find permanent homes. They're all stunningly beautiful and have a range of wonderful personalities.
Roosters of this type often do well with hen companions. They should not live with other roosters due to their traumatic past experiences. They are used to being handled and love human companionship, though their behavior can be unpredictable at times due to past trauma. They would benefit from patient adopters willing to give them plenty of time to decompress in their new environments. They would likely thrive as indoor companions.
For the ongoing safety of these roosters, they are not pictured here. They are all dubbed, a common and horrific practice in cockfighting where their combs and wattles are removed. Pictured is Timmy, a permanent resident of Rooster Haus Rescue, who came from a different cockfighting seizure. The six adoptable roosters look similar to Timmy. We're happy to share information about the individual available roosters privately with serious interested adopters.
These roosters are looking for homes where they'll be kept as companions and receive compassionate veterinary care. Their new living spaces must be predator-proofed with a secure coop where they will be safe at night. They'd likely make great indoor companions! While they haven't been tested with other animals, we think they'd do well with hen companions.
These roosters are currently in foster in Washington State. Transport can be arranged up to 250 miles from the Seattle area for the right home at no cost to the adopters. Rooster Haus Rescue recommends a strict 30-day quarantine protocol before introducing new animals to any existing flock. These roosters have been with us for quite a while and have long since completed their recommended quarantine period.
