Schooner Parrot Macaw Clearwater, FL

Hi, I'm Schooner, a handsome 29-year-old Harlequin Macaw that LOVES attention! I really like hanging out on the top of my cage or on the door. If you leave the room I'm in, I may climb down and follow you, just to be with you.

I enjoy when my foster mom sits on the floor and lets me come over to her. I like to run my beak all over her while she scratches my head. I'm not a big fan of getting my pin feathers groomed but I will let you get a couple before I've had enough. I like to talk a lot! My foster mom loves when I say, "Peek a Boo" while playing. I like greeting people with "Hey guys" when they come into the house.

I'm currently on a Zupreem fruit blend diet, I don't care for chop, but my foster mom keeps trying. I do love to snack on fruits, veggies and nuts. Most times I'll ask, "Is good?" before I take it. Right now, my favorite fruit is a cherry.

I enjoy music and dancing during the day or even a good Disney movie with lots of singing! An important thing to know about me is that I am very strong willed, and I will bully someone if they let me. It's important to be firm with me and give me boundaries.

I don't mind dogs, cats or other birds, but I think I would be better as the only bird so I can have ALL the attention! Overall, my foster mom says I'm a good boy (I also tell her I'm a good boy in case she forgets) that really wants attention when someone is home.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
