Ollie Parrot Cockatoo Jacksonville, FL

Hi everyone!! My name is Ollie, and I am a Goffin Cockatoo! I am approximately 21 years old, and I am one smart and handsome bird! I was a Haven Hospice Pet Therapy Parrot from 2008 until 2010 and thrilled many patients in the Care Center and nursing homes! I have been retired since then.

I am adjusting to my new foster home and warming up to my foster mom. She thinks I am pretty cool! I am used to being handled and I do not have a preference for men or women. I can be a bit nippy, so it may be best if I am adopted into a home with children 12 years and older.

Like all Cockatoos, I LOVE attention! I also enjoy chewing! My foster mom gives me lots of things to chew on because I will cause some damage if I am not given lots of chew toys to keep me busy. I enjoy mist baths and really enjoy having my head scratched. I will click my beak rapidly when I am happy or excited. I am not bothered by the dogs or cats in my foster home, but we are never let out together.

I require a lot of attention and like most Cockatoos, if I don't give it, I will scream. I will continually make loud noises, so no shared walls like apartments or townhomes for me.

I am on a healthy diet of chop, pellets, healthy seeds, fresh fruit and veggies, and shelled nuts for a treat. I am a good eater, but I can and do make a big mess.

I do barber and pluck some my feathers, but my foster mom is currently working on getting me to stop by giving me attention. I will also stop if soft ties are put around my neck. I enjoy mist baths.

Overall, I am an active and fun fella. I am looking for a forever home that has time, patience, and lots of love to give me. it is important to understand Cockatoos and our needs. If you think I am the right guy for you, fill out an application below! Can't wait to meet you!

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
