Lily Parrot Ringneck / Psittacula Zephyrhills, FL

Hello! My name is Lily, and I am a 5-year-old white Indian Ringneck. Nice to meet YOU! I am a sassy little girl with a lot of love to give. My favorite thing to do is call out to my foster family birdie members. I LOVE to eat millet, apples and grapes as a treat, and overall, I am a good eater. I am on a pelleted diet and love my mix. As an added treat before my bedtime, I love a quick NutriBerries before lights out at 7:30. The vet said I am a very beautiful birdie with long beautiful tail feathers, I couldn’t agree more. I do not talk but my foster mom seems to think I say "Hi" very softly every once in a while.

I am a very independent girl, and I will let you know if I want attention. I usually make a clicking noise with my tongue that lets you know I am in a lovey mood. My foster mom will start the clicking noise and ask to pet my head and I love affection so much! I also love my feet gently rubbed when I am perching on my foster mom's hand. It will take some time for me to warm up to my new family but always remember that it takes time and when it happens, I will show my forever home just how much of a great bird I am!

My foster mom is working with me on bettering my step-up commands. I am still a little skittish around her, and I do bite. I do better with men than I do women and I am not fond of younger children. I am learning to love my foster pack, especially my doggie friends who come to say good morning to me every day which always makes me curious. I have not shown my foster family that I am a flier, I prefer to walk around on my foster family's shoulders to chill with them if they’re watching TV or when my foster mom is on her computer working.

I am a loud bird and because of this, I would not be suitable for apartment or condo living. I definitely need lots of toys to keep me occupied and a happy birdie! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE to look at myself in my mirror toys too! I tell myself just how beautiful I am and that my future family is out there waiting to love me and give me a forever home.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
