Meet Kodi

Kodi is such a dapper gent! He’s come a long way since he was first found, laying in a snowbank unable to move. Kodi had a fractured hip, and most likely was hit by a car, launched into the snowbank, and between the pain and the cold was unable to free himself. It’s nearly miraculous that one of our volunteers had ventured out in the snowstorm down that very block, and saw Kodi right as he was about to lose consciousness. A supportive splint, a soft heated bed, good nutrition, and medications to relieve pain and swelling gradually restored Kodi’s strength and mobility. Because his hip fracture was so severe Kodi will always have a limp and walk slowly, but this little charmer still has plenty of strut and swagger! Kodi has perfected the art of finding all the softest places to relax in his foster home, napping atop stuffed toys and even his foster mom’s baseball cap! Confident and curious, polite and sociable, Kodi is a natural at this house pigeon business of wearing pants and hanging out with human friends. His name might be short for the cold climate of Kodiak Island, but Kodi pidge looks forward to being warm and cozy forevermore in a loving adoptive home!
