Hannah Parrot Macaw Blairstown, NJ

Hannah is a large, beautiful Greenwing Macaw. She has been DNA’d female, as well as disease tested for Psittacosis, PBFD & Pacheos and vetted in 2022/2023.

Hannah can be very sweet and playful but can also be jealous of other macaws. She has not bitten anyone but had been aggressive at times in her previous home which caused them to be fearful of her. We work with her on coming in/out of the cage, stepping up/down from different stands, taking treats nicely (nuts are her favorite) and sitting on a knee and hanging out. Macaw experience is a must!

While out of the cage her favorite stand is a java tree with toys & treats. She doesn’t try to get down and wander. Loves getting a spray bath and dancing to music. Being read to is a favorite, books with pictures to see make it even better!

She is a great eater, loves her chop and was easily converted off seed to a pellet diet of Roudybush with almonds, walnuts, nutriberries and birdie bread! To help with hormones we do use a calming/hormonal tea.

After I receive, we will be in touch to review your information and with any questions we may have. There are multiple visits required to interact with the bird you connect with. Your first visit is what I compare to speed dating, you will meet many wonderful and sweet birds and we see who you connect with, attention is paid for how birds respond, we base our adoptions on the birds input and tell all adopters that when we let the bird choose, it's always a good match! During the visit time frame, we typically perform a home visit as well. The home visit is a great chance to review bringing home a rescue bird, where to setup cages, dangers in the home that many people may not consider, diet, daily routines, etc
