Meet Cobi! Formally known as Cobi G Cockatoo, a 27-year-old male Goffins Cockatoo.

Cobi is everything we love about cockatoos in a smaller and dare I say, more easy-going package! This guy is playful, entertaining, sweet and loving. Truly everyone’s bird - he absolutely loves “crowd surfing”. Cobi will fly from person to person to make sure everyone has a chance to say hello and give head scratches. Don’t want to scratch his head? No problem - he will scratch yours and whisper sweet nothings in your ear. Literally - sweet nothings. Cobi while “vocal” isn’t much of a talker. “Hi” and “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” are about all he says and neither too frequently. Hence - easier going than most ‘Toos.

Not uniquely, Cobi does not like hats and really does not like being ignored. If your home and awake, plan on having him sit on your shoulder and remove your hat for you. After all, its rude to wear hats inside, right?

As far as “likes” swinging on his rope swing, destroying wooden toys and cardboard are top of the list. Bottle tops, chopsticks and knotted ropes for untying are pretty fun too. Another favorite game is musical chairs - that where just Cobi hops from dining room chair, to chair, to chair. Fetch is a popular sport also this is a little different than the fetch his dog brother plays though. See, Cobi likes to throw things and for YOU to bring them back! He can throw a ball, a stick, a sock, even treats and will then “dance” as he waits for you to retrieve the item for another throw. But just sitting on the couch and watching tv, listening to music or looking in the mirror are ok too, just as long as he’s with you.

Ask him if he’s a good bird or a bad bird and he will shake his head to answer the questions and “Big Wings” is a fun one too. When he’s had enough, or has to poop, he will fly back to his cage for a break.

This one has lots of love to give and is very equal opportunities minded. He likes dogs, kids, men, women, snacks, toys, he’s just a happy guy!

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
