Meet Cascadia
An orphan of the storm imperiled by a larger force! Cascadia is an honorable and fortunate survivor of pigeon racing. Racing poses many welfare risks on the bird. They become susceptible to predator attacks from birds of prey as well as other animals and wildlife. The races cover lengthy and difficult distances, placing high physical demands on the pigeon. The majority of racing birds are rescued underweight, loosing more than a quarter of their weight due to dehydration and starvation. With his amber eyes of wisdom, one year old Cascadia has experienced hardships far beyond our imagination. The painful part of Cascadia's story has come to an end, thanks to a fortunate rescue. Now it is time to begin a new and happier chapter in Cascadia's life. A foster or forever home filled with "cascades" of love will be the dream come true for Cascadia!
