Animal Relief Fund
Our next adopt a pet will be at the Pet Stop on Sat. May 10th, from
11-2 pm. the Pet Stop is located next to the big Kroger in Spring Hill on Highway 31. Look for the signs, or call 615-504-9600 for more info.
We discourage giving animals as gifts unless the whole family agrees and picks out the pet. Suprise animals can sometimes turn into a situation were the animal is not wanted and discarded. It happens all too frequently. Don't let the element of suprise cause an innocent animal to go to the shelter after the newness and holiday "spirit" has worn off.
We take our adoptions seriously. All potential adopters will be screened and go through an interview process so that our animals and the potential adopters make a perfect life long fit and commitment.
Although we no longer have the beloved KMK Acres on Highway 31 in Thompson Station to do our adopt a pets, we will still continue to DO our adopt a pets at various locations with at least five other rescue groups at each function. We sure miss the KMK as it was not only the most beautiful facility to do our adopt a pets but the generousity of Cindy Heron and Furry Friends helped thousands of unwanted animals get wonderful homes.
The Animal Relief Fund is full and cannot take in any animals at this time. ARF will list your animal with your email address to help your pet find a wonderful forever home.
Pets are a life long commitment. Please think very seriously about your lifestyle and the changes that will probably occur within the next 10 to 15 years of your life. Moving is the number one reason people surrender animals to shelters.
CALL 504-9600 FOR MORE INFO.
WE CAN ALWAYS USE VOLUNTEERS FOR ADOPTION DAY TO HELP WITH THE DOGS OR PROVIDE FOSTER HOMES IN BETWEEN ADOPTIONS. THIS IS A FUN ANIMAL LOVING GROUP THAT CAN ALWAYS USE MORE VOLUNTEERS AND FINANCIAL HELP. WE ARE ONLY AS GOOD AND SUCCESSFUL AS OUR DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS---PLEASE HELP.
Please do not give a pet as a gift if the recipient does not get to pick their own animal. So many animals that are presented as gifts are turned into shelters or are given away. The shelters are flooded with unwanted gift pets. Please remember pets are a lifelong commitment not just something to get rid of once the newness has worn off.
The animals featured on this web site can be seen at Adopt-A-Pets or by appointment.
The Animal Relief Fund was started in 1996 as a way to help animals in various shelters get the medical care they needed. It provided finacial support for animals that would otherwise be euthanized due to various curable conditions. It also sponsors several spay stations for low income funding.
The Animal Relief Fund not only still does these tasks, but fosters and places animals that otherwise would be euthanized. A.R.F. has rescued and placed livestock, birds, and reptiles along with dogs and cats. Over the years, it has placed over 15,000 animals in loving homes.
We encourage people to come to our Adopt A Pets, who are willing to make responsible, lifelong commitments to their new member of their family.
A.R.F. is a one man operation. If e-mails are not immediately answered please try your e-mail again . It is hard to answer the many e-mails and take care of all of the animals. A.R.F. is only interested in adopting in the Nashville area, unless special arrangements and references are made. A.R.F. also reserves the right to refuse adoptions. Adoption fees vary.
Adopting a friend
A.R.F. requires that an application be filled out and approved prior to adoption. There is also an adoption fee and a contract that returns the animal to A.R.F. if the owner can no longer care for the animal. A.R.F. is interested in quality adoptions not quantity adoptions.Come Visit Us!
