Who We Are
The Humane Society of Lackawanna County provides many services to our surrounding communities including;
- Shelter for Lost, Abandoned and Unwanted Animals.
- Pet Adoption Program.
- Affordable Spay/Neutering Clinic to assist Pet owners in financial need to spay or neuter family pets.
- Rabies Clinic.
- Educational Programs designed to teach area children the necessity of responsible pet ownership and compassion for the animals entrusted to our care.
- Cruelty Investigation and Prevention.
- Pet Therapy in cooperation with local hospitals and nursing homes.
Adopting a friend
Adoption hours are noon- 4:30 pm, 7 days a week. Potential adopters are required to complete an application and sign an adoption contract. The cost of adoption includes,shots,microchip implant,Feline Leukemia/FlV testing,worming, licensing, spay/neutering and a nominal donation.

The Humane Society of Lackawanna County is located at exit 197 off Route 81. Turn off the exit ramp onto Rte. 632 W. Drive .4 mile on 632W and turn left into Ivy Industrial Park (This is Griffin Pond Rd). The Humane Society is located .4 miles in on the right side across from the PEXCO building.
