Meet Marshall Pickles
Arrival story: A very nice couple saw me wandering the streets of Detroit with a collar and partial leash. They tried really hard to find my home with no luck. Despite having a house full of their own pets, they decided to keep me safe until I could find another foster or forever home. I am one of the lucky ones.
Approximate age / Weight: 1 year / 60 lbs
Personality: I am an amazingly handsome, spunky young, playful dog looking for a human partner for life! I would love an active person/family to call my own. I will never turn down anything peanut butter especially a kong filled with this yumminess. I really enjoy chewing on antlers, too! I am affectionate and enjoy belly rubs and being scratched on my head between my eyes. If you need a kiss to cheer you up, I will be happy to accommodate.
I am very smart and would enjoy going to training class. I am treat-motivated, take treats gently, and have great focus on you. While very strong and athletic, I can be easily redirected to you if something else catches my interest. If you need a jogging partner, I could be your boy. I love to zoom around the yard super fast so you can enjoy my athletic prowess! I have learned to live with kitties in my foster home. I do live with other dogs currently, too. My ideal dog buddy would be female that likes to play.
Crate-training was a cinch and my house-training is almost perfected. I have pretty good house manners, as well. Sometimes I pull something off a shelf to check it out, though. I am basically a puppy in a 60lb package. Learning not to jump up for attention isn’t easy for me because I want to be close to you but I am smart and will learn. I am working on my leash skills, too. I do have a wrestling type of play style and like to be in contact with the people around me. Good thing my brindle coat is so soft and shiny.
Forever home: I would like a person who promises to teach me the things all good dogs know, in a kind and gentle manner. I would enjoy going to training class with you and have a fenced yard to romp in or go for long walks. I am a bit too pouncy at this point in time to live with young kids. I could easily knock a little one over.

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
