Meet Amazing Zelda
Hi everyone! I'm Amazing Zelda! I've been in foster care for almost 2 years, after I was found wandering in the street. I'm probably about 3 years old. I have lots of energy and love to play! While at the foster home, I've learned lots of tricks, and even won the "Smartest Dog" contest at the most recent PAWS-4-a-Cause event. I sleep in my crate at night and when I'm home alone, and am happy to go "to my room". I would also sleep in your bed, but only if you invite me to! I can be very affectionate, and will push my head into your lap to say "I love you" while you scratch my neck or rub my chest. I have excellent food bowl manners. Food is very motivating and I can learn a lot when I'm rewarded with a tasty treat.
Sometimes I get a bit excited, like when I see a squirrel on a walk or when I hear other dogs outside. This can be intimidating to some people, but I'm really loyal and protective of my foster home. Over time, I've shown my foster team that I can be a dominant dog. I get along with some medium and large dogs, but not small dogs. I've done well around some older children, but I would do better in a home without very young children. I'd love to be part of your family, and have already shown lots of potential with the bit of obedience training I've received. If you already have dogs at home, you can make arrangements through PAWS to have us meet and see if we get along.
