Local Foster Update 8/20/13:
Thane is a joy to foster, really so sweet. He is house trained, has not bothered my cats and gets along great with all the dogs here and in doggie daycare.  Only thing is that he is a little cranky about sharing his food, easily resolved by feeding him separately.Â
PRIOR BIO:
Â
Meet Thane, named by his sponsor, Julie. Love the little pouty snout!!
Thane was rescued in his last hours from a high kill shelter in the south. Our foster mom was picking up another dog from there, but could not resist his sweet face staring at her through his cage, so she scooped him up too!!
Thane is a pug mix. He is about a year old and he weighs 14 pounds. He is a little shy at first, but once he is comfortable, is a very loving guy. LOVES to play with the other dogs in his foster place. Thane is also crate trained.Â
Thane is fully vetted, neutered and HW negative. He is patiently waiting to be loved by a forever family.Â
Please consider giving this sweet boy a loving home he so deserves.
Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog.    They are the best!

Interested in adopting this fantastic canine? Please visit our website and complete an online application – we respond to applications MUCH QUICKER than we do email inquiries which are quite difficult at times given the number that we receive – don’t miss out on this dog – complete an application -http://www.pawsnewengland.com/adoption-form/ Â
An application does not mean you are required to adopt – it just lets us know you are seriously considering this dog for adoption.
QUARANTINE: Paws New England participates and abides by the quarantine rules and regulations set forth in the states of NH, MA, CT, RI. Â Please note: Additional Quarantine fees may apply that are not included in adoption donation.
UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF RHODE ISLAND BOARDED EITHER PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES OR TRAINING FACILITIES. If a dog is listed as "local", he /she is at one of our foster homes in New England.
We are often asked, ""Why would you charge ""so much"" for a rescue pet? Why not just place it in a good home?" Â The answer is because we need adopters who are willing to support ALL rescue pets, not just the dog they adopt. A young, healthy dog might cost us $150-400 in discounted vet care, and many people will want to adopt it; an older dog with health issues can easily cost $500-1500 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care for rehabilitation yet we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt him/her. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others.
