LADY~ADOPTION PENDING! English Coonhound Mix North Vancouver, BC

LADY is an English Coonhound mix who is almost 11 months old and weighs about 60 lbs. She is a  sweetheart of a hound who was growing up in the shelter system but is now doing well in foster care. Bully Buddies and Cross Our Paws Rescue  are working together on placing her in a great home.

Lady has spent most of her 11 months in the shelter system and her earlier home placement didn’t work out unfortunately. So, we are still on the look-out for a HOUND SAVVY HOME that knows hounds and what their needs are. If you are not savvy and don't know the breed, think twice! We will NOT be placing Lady in novice homes to "try" her out! She is a high energy dog that needs STRONG, ACTIVE LEADERSHIP! If her needs are met, you will have yourself an AWESOME canine companion!!! Lady is affectionate, funny and entertaining and has a heart of GOLD!?? LADY loves people and loves dogs, but can’t resist the temptation to chase cats and other small critters!  She may also bowl young children over with kisses. LADY is doing great in her foster home: she is house-trained and crate-trained and is about to complete her basic obedience class. She still has some puppy issues such as counter-surfing however, and needs to be kept busy.  LADY is just learning about walking on-leash and like many hounds will need more training and thought before she could be a good off-leash hiking buddy. Her nose is to the ground 95% of the time and her recall is limited, which is no surprise considering her breed. She is sweet, loves to please, and loves to be loved by all who meet her. If you are looking for a fun new best friend, love hounds and are ready for some continued older puppy training, then Lady may be your catch! Lady would LOVE to be enrolled in a dog sport such as Tracking or Nosework. She would be amazing at it and it's fun for the handler too. Lady will need a fenced yard to enjoy the sun and play with her toys or even better another dog to play with.
