Wellington has a wonderful disposition and sound temperament. He will make a great family member and friend.Â
We do not know his exact age -- but we do know he hasn't lost a single little baby tooth yet.
He likes to do what most puppies do. He LOVES to play with toys. Squeaky toys. Honking toys. Chew toys. Balls. And even very, very quiet toys. He enjoys participating in games of fetch -- but this pup doesn't actually fetch the ball yet -- he chases the big dogs while they fetch it. (It's not always easy being the youngest) He enjoys playing 'tug' and wrestling with his Old English Sheepdog friend, Maggie. He takes cues from the older dogs very well and is quite respectful.
He has lots more to learn but he knows how to potty outside and how to 'sit' for a treat during training sessions with the big dogs.Â
He's happy to entertain himself, entertain you or entertain any dogs or cats who will participate. Currently he resides with a female Old English Sheepdog -- a black, shaggy, mixed-beast, and two dog savvy cats. And he, of course, adores people too. Â
Wells loves to chase the big dogs, potty outside and get lots of praise. He loves to snuggle. He LOVES meal time - although he eats a little faster than our liking -- we're hoping with some trade secrets (or not-so-secret methods) we are working on changing that .. we also feed him one of his meals per day in a puzzle toy where he gets to "play with his food" or work for it. Â
Wellington sleeps in his crate at night and when his foster family is away for short periods for Well's safety. He's just a baby and doesn't know there are things in this big world that could hurt him or he could hurt himself with. He also enjoys naps on a comfy dog bed and enjoys chewing on elk antlers and Nylabones to help work through his teething.
Wellington is a special (needs) boy -- he has full vision in his right eye -- yet is only able to see shadows and light through his left eye. He has been seen by a Veterinary Ophthalmologist here in the Twin Cities. There is NO CURE for his eye ailment. He will need to be seen by a veterinary ophthalmologist again when he is nearly a year to check the pressure in his eye. And as needed. He was most recently diagnosed with a bladder/urinary tract infection and is on a course of antibiotics. Despite the infection -- he is doing very well with his house/potty training. *It is important for anyone interested to note that he is a baby and thus has an immature bladder. He will not be able to hold his urine during a full work day.   He is up to date on all his vaccinations, de-worming, flea and tick prevention, eye tests, microchip, etc. If you're interested in adding Wellington to your family, please fill out an adoption application. Found here in pink -->please complete our adoption application.  Please be sure to tell 'em Wellington sent you!
