And now a few words from me: My name is Rio and I came from a beach in Cuba. My mom gave birth to me in the tall grass of the dunes and I lived there for 4 weeks until I could be separated from my mom. A kind Cuban vet and his family took my little family in to give me a chance at a future. I flew here with my siblings and am now in a foster home with LOYAL rescue.

I am small but mighty. I am what you call a Whippet mix breed. My mom was medium sized but I am only about 20 lbs at 8 months so I won't be very big at all. I need all those things that a puppy needs: love, a warm bed, nutritious food and of course, to learn all about life! I have mastered walking on a leash and walk rather well if I do say so myself! I am outgoing, fun loving and do very well with all other dogs. I love being with people too, and those things called laps, my favorite!

I recently started going to a place called a ‘dog park’ and I really like it there. I love meeting and playing with new dogs and I especially like meeting the new people there! They very understanding that I am still learning and experiencing new situations. Did you check out the link to our blog above? You’ll really enjoy the fun videos that our foster mom posted of us playing. Our foster mom says we are quite entertaining and fun pups to have around. She is always telling us how good we are for young pups.

And now a few words from my foster mom: This pup is already spayed and will have 2 sets of shots by the time he is to be adopted. He has lots of learning and socializing to do at this stage of his life. He is exceptionally friendly and outgoing and loves the yard. Rio has almost perfected his housetraining and is used to both crate and xpen. He and Nina are not crated at night and sleep comfortably together. If you have a yard, time for training and adore this pup as much as I do, please put in your application.
