Barbie Chihuahua Mix Alpharetta, GA

 

 


Barbie is a sweet chi mix.  She is about 3 years old, crate-trained, and for the most part house-broken.  She adjusts well to small children, men, other small dogs or very mild tempered/non aggressive dogs and cats.  Her activity level is moderate to low.  She loves to play with her toys, go for walks, but mostly she loves to snuggle up beside you or on your lap.  She sleeps under her blanket in a crate and is an all around snuggle-bug.  She is extremely treat/food driven, so you will need to be careful not to overfeed her, but at the same time the use of small treats is a great way to get her to focus her attention.  Likely, due to her history, her size and her breed, she does bark and snarl at all new people and dogs, however she has never bitten anybody in the 6 plus months she lived with us.  After some time with the new people or pets, she stops barking and will take treats from anybody.  She seems to like being part of a "pack" and she just needs time to adjust to the new pack.  When introducing a new dog, it is a good idea to take them for walks together, this helps Barbie figure out her place in the pack and bond with another pet.  Currently, she lives with a married couple, a four year old, and a cat.  She has also lived with three other foster dogs and it has always worked out well.  She loves car rides and will just generally make you feel like the most important person in the world!
