#23229 BRIN is a handsome, small (20 pounds), female, brindle and white Basenji. She is a sweet little girl with a good coat who came into the shelter as a stray. Basenjis are clean and quiet (although Brin barks some) but they are stubborn, difficult to train and independent and should only be adopted by Basenji savvy families. They are sight hounds, still used as hunting dogs in Africa, and can never be trusted off lead. The sight of squirrel, rabbit or cat will have them off and running in spite of your commands or busy traffic and they won't think about you again until the meal is caught and consumed! Hopefully this girl's people will think to check for her at the shelter. If they don't she will be available for adoption 7-18-2012 after 2:00.
