Hucklebuck (Huck) is looking for a special family to call his own this holiday season. Coming into the care of AC&A as a stray, Huck has been through some trying times. During the summer, severe pneumonia and a collapsed lung left him with a 50/50 chance of survival. After many visits with multiple vets, x-rays, antibiotics, and several professional opinions, he has been given a clean bill of health. Huck is back to his lively self and plays hard every single day. It is possible that Huck?s left lung never developed properly, or that a bad infection as a kitten left scar tissue which prevented re-inflation. The veterinary specialists attending to Huck said that although his left lung will likely never re-inflate; it should not cause any problems for him in the future. Huck is a very energetic and curious kitten, but knows his limitations and when a break is in order. His ideal family would be active and have one or more young, playful feline companions. Huck also needs a family who is conscious of his condition. He must be an indoor-only cat to reduce the risk of infection to his right lung. Huck is a fun-loving, confident young boy who likes to run the show. He chases feather wands like there is no tomorrow. He is the master of fetch, never failing to return his favorite toys (hair bands). He continues to be intensely perplexed by the shower, and is still trying to solve the mystery of why any human would do such a thing. At the end of the day, Huck loves to cuddle and is a non-stop purring machine. Huck was born to a feral mom.
Fully vetted: tested for FeLV/FIV (negative unless otherwise noted); treated for intestinal parasites, fleas, and ear mites; FVRCP+FeLV vaccinated (initial vaccination and booster); and rabies vaccinated; spayed/neutered; microchipped with Home Again microchips with shelter paid registration.
