Meet Walker
Isn't Walker cute? His face just screams 'LOVE ME'!
Walker is a 1.5 year old boston terrier mix. We know this because we know his momma, BTRC alumni Jane. We're not exactly sure who the tall dark stranger his dad is but they sure made a handsome pup. Walker is certainly a large 'boston', weing in at 50 lbs. Walker was born with demodex, a non-contageous mite. He'd been treated as a pup, but after the stress of moving halfway across the country, it made a comeback. Although his current treatment is going very well, we feel it's important to keep him on it until after his adoption, just so his immune system doesn't get overcome again with a move.
Walker is a cuddle monster. He enjoys nothing more than cuddling with his humans, or his foster sister and brother. Walker is crate trained and will run in when prompted in the morning for a yummy treat. He may cry for a little bit when left and he's very excited when his human returns, usually vocalizing his delight. We recommend crating when alone because although house trained, Walker has, at times, had emotional release of urine. We've been helping Walker with his confidence and he has graduated from basic obedience class and is now attending agility, which he has a fantastic flair for. he currently knows the commands: sit, down, stay, give paw, come and off.
Walker enjoys playing with toys, and destroying those he can (lol). He's also a worthy wrestling opponent and will go, go, go with the right partner. We feel that Walker can be placed in a home with or without other pets, as long as he gets sufficient exercise and exposure. As mentioned, Walker will stay on his oral demodex treatment until settled well into his home - administering to him is a cinch so don't worry! We're now accepting applicants who will be willing to get to know Walker before bringing him home, so not to compromise his well-being. He's worth it!
