Meet Wheezy
This adorable guy brindle boy is Wheezy. He is 2.5 years old and was surrendered when his previous owners were forced to move and couldn't find a dog friendly place to live. He previously lived with other dogs and seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, big and small. He has been living in NYC with us for a few weeks now and it is obvious that this boy can adapt to any living situation, be it suburbs or city. He is pretty low maintenance for a young dog and is happiest sleeping on his human's lap. He acts like a big baby and likes to be held on his back, it's hysterical! He is super sweet and just loves to give kisses. When he is excited he does the cutest little bean dance where he almost folds in half.
He is a little unsure of meeting new people but can be easily bribed to trust them with treats, he is very food motivated. Once he realizes he is not in any danger he tries to climb into his new friends' laps and lick their faces clean. His ideal home would know how to manage this fear and just instruct visitors to ignore him until he comes to them. Once he knows you he tolerates all handling, with ZERO resource or food guarding. He desperately just wants a forever family to call his own.
Wheezy is currently being fostered in New York City and his adoption fee will be $500
We require an application, phone interview and homecheck. To see our application process before applying, visit our Petfinder shelter information page or visit www.nebostonrescue.org You can also complete our online application on our website.
There is a $10 application fee which helps to defer our costs. This does not in any way guarantee the dog you are requesting and applications are not based on first come, first served. Our goal is to carefully evaluate each applicant's individual situation to find the home that is best match for each dog in our care.
Our adoption fees are as follows:
$600- Puppies 6 months to 2 yrs
$500- 2 yrs to 4 yrs
$450- 5 yrs to 7 yrs
TBD- over 8 years based on health & behavior
(Our adoption fees are non-negotiable and lowering is only considered in the dogs with behavioral or medical issues.)
In addition to spay/neutering and updated vaccines all adopted dogs will come with a two week food supply for transition, current medical records, in depth written assessment of all behavior, observations and routines while in foster care, leash, collar and a supply of any necessary medication.
