G.L.M.R.....THROWING A LIFE LINE TO MASTIFFS IN NEED
Hello, everyone. My name's Eve and I am an adorable 6 year old fawn female. I am now weighing in at an amazing weight of 140+ lbs. While that may not sound like a lot to you, I was about 100 lbs when the friends of mine at GLMR picked me up. I hadn't had food or any care for a very long time. My foster parents fattened me up and got me a jacket because, when you are just skin and bones, it is pretty darn cold in Chicago during the winter. Now that I am really healthy, I am ready to find a place to call my very own. Here's a little bit about me. I like attention. Lots and lots of attention. The movie "All about Eve" really strikes a cord with me because, hey, it IS all about me (EVE!). I am awesome at giving kisses. I am kind of indiscriminant in that manner. I love everybody. I am working on my leash manners because I will try to get away with anything I can. I know my basic commands but "Sit" is probably my best. I am a counter surfer but I am trying to resist the temptation of tasty goodness that might be sitting on the kitchen island. Sorry, food lady, I really should not have helped myself to the flank steak but, hey, it was just sitting there calling my name. I love to play with my soccer ball (also known as football in other areas - Go Chicago Fire!) in the yard. It's not really a football, it's a gnaw and fling ball in my world. I am also learning to take treats nicely because, seriously, that stuff in your hand smells delicious and I want it in my belly right now. Because of the wretched state that I was found, I don't have the most glorious of coats and my tail will never have a lot of hair. Less to brush, right? Also, the food lady is working on the scaly buildup on my ears. Some constant attention should get me looking great really soon. So, if you are ready to take on a pretty headstrong girl who is definitely a work in progress, I am perfect for you. Slobbers and kisses, Eve.
If you are not able to adopt, please consider making a donation to GLMR to help with medical bills on one of these gentle giants. Giant breed dogs also come with giant vet bills. All GLMR dogs are fixed, up to date on shots and healthy when they go to their new homes, but they don't always come to us that way. GLMR does not turn away dogs for health problems! So *please* help us to help them and make a tax deductible donation to GLMR by clicking the paypal link below. Thank you in advance!
