At nearly 7 years old she has never, to our knowledge, spent more than one consecutive year in any one place. So you'll have to forgive her if she's a little slower to warm up, a little harder to get to know.   But once you do, if you give her the time, then the friendship Scout has to offer is totally worth it. She gets really excited to see her person, stomping her feet and woo-wooing a silly song. She's actually quite vocal, and her charming grumblings can be mistaken for growls, though she doesn't understand that.   She's completely housetrained but will need to be crated when left home alone. Or, if there is a doggie door to go in and out, she'll do well with that too. Scout likes other dogs and is completely safe around cats.    This sweet girl has had a lonely existence so far. She'd probably be too uncomfortable in a busy house or with someone who wanted a dog to go lots of places with them. But, if you're the home-body type, content with an afternoon book or some gardening, leisurley evening strolls through the neighborhood, and quiet company, Scout might finally feel at home with you.
